We sold our first home back at the end of March! It was a great, little house but unfortunately we outgrew it. It was also on a busy street so for Owen and our dogs, we thought it best to find a more quiet street. We also wanted to go down in price and up in size-not an easy task to do! But we were able to do it!!
I wanted to write down for my memory's sake some things I miss about our old house...
1) The master suite was like a loft type room with lots of closet space and attic storage.
2) The porch swing-even though the street had constant traffic, it was still peaceful to go out there and swing with Owen.
3) The backyard-when we moved in, the grass was kind of sad and lots of dirt...we put down sod and it was an instant transformation. We spent so much time out back-just getting sun, letting the dogs play, Owen "driving" in his car.
4) The rose trees, hydrangea, and day lilies that I planted.
5) It will always be special as it was our first home and it is where we brought our baby home....where he had lots of "firsts"
It has been a long process with us looking for our next house. When we first started looking, we had it in our mind that it would be the house we would stay in forever....until we realized that our "forever" home was out of our price range! :) We made FIVE offers before we finally got the house we are moving into!! 5!! I never knew how emotional buying/selling a house could be! We would picture ourselves in a house and then it wouldn't work out...it was heartbreaking...but we really feel like the one we are moving into is our perfect house (for now...) It gives us about 600 more square footage and it's a few hundred dollars cheaper a month-yay! The couple who we are buying it from completely renovated the house and we love it! We are so excited to move in and take our time decorating it just the way we want. We rushed into decorating our old house.
We have been out of our old house since the end of March. Since then, we rented a house and then stayed with our wonderful friends for the past two weeks! It has been a stressful journey but so thankful that the day has arrived!! We will no longer be homeless! :)
I can't wait to see what memories are made in our new place...

Congratulations Dawn! So exciting! I can't wait to see pictures of the inside!!!
